New NaNo Wordcount Widget

November is almost (well 25 days) upon us and I have just updated my widget thingies to display this years wordcount so anyone who wants to can follow along. You can also check out my NaNo Profile at http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/466887 It includes stuff like my Title, genre, updated word count, word count progress charts, Story Synopsis, Cover Art, etc. So check it out, and follow my amazing noveling progress throughout the month of November. I'm so excited! (But you probally knew that already)

EDIT: For whatever reason, my widget doesn't seem to be working yet, and I think it is a problem with the NaNo site link, so I will get it fixed as soon as I can.

Look! A participant Icon!

So I have totally had the new 2009 Participant Icons saved on my computer for a week or two now and I'm just getting around to posting it up here on the blog. So here it is! *Grand waving hand gesture to the right* Ta-Dah! Isn't it cute? LoL.

So there are only 38 days and 45 minutes left until NaNoWriMo 2009 as I type this right now. I'm so excited and all ready to go. I'm getting so impatient! I'm pretty much ready to dive in and start noveling away. I've got most of my character profiles written to some extent (except for some of the minor characters) and I have a plot that is realitivly plausable thanks to the fantasy genre and suspension of disbelief. Go Imagination! I only really have one small (gigantic in the tiniest way possible) plot hole. It has to do with how the character ends up travelling to the different worlds. Yup, like I said, small *rolls eyes*. I'm sure I'll figure it out come November.... it's still a month away. It's not like I don't have any ideas or anything, they just don't quite fit in right with the rest of the story. But, like I said, It will come to me (or so I hope)

On a compleatly unrelated note, I saw the movie Julie & Julia tonight. It was really good and I recomend it to anyone who likes cooking or knows someone who likes to cook (or just wants a good chick-flick) It was touching and funny and didn't end they way I thought it would which I think really made the movie stand out that much more. I'd say more, but I'm afraid I would give it away to anyone who is going to see it.

So here's to Movies, Cooking and Writing!

Cheers!

47 Days

Only 47 days left until NaNo! I'm excited, but a bit worried too.

My left wrist gets really sore sometimes (I think it might be the begining of carple-tunnel) and for the last week it has been giving me greif. I've tried babying it by wearing a brace, but as soon as I take the brace off, it is still sore when I move it. Highly inconveinent. So I'm hoping really hard it will be better by November 1st.

Havn't done a whole lot on the novel planning front. I've been a bit distracted with another project I am working on. It's a crazy quilt and will be my first "official" quilt, so i'm really excitind about it. The only problem is that I have to sew in the basement and I get so lonely and feel like I'm in a hole or something (well, it is mostly underground) and the air is musty and smells of mold. There is a fan down there, which helps, but doesn't get compleatly rid of the smell. And spiders! ICK. I really hate them, they creep me out. I want to be able to sew in the sunshine and daylight! If only I could sew outside... that would be really nice! I can write outside though, so I guess i will have to balance my time equally between sewing in the dark and writing in the sun.

Its not quite like riding a bike...

YIPPIE! I'M BACK!!

They changed the site on me since I was logged on last and now I have to figure everything out again! Its not as easy as riding a bike. LoL!

So I havn't blogged since last November (2008) when I was participating in NaNoWriMo. I did Win last year with a whopping 52,000+ words (I can't remember my exact total) So I was so excited and so tired from spending all my time writing, I never came back to update my Blog. Tisk-Tisk to me. Well I'm back now, and getting ready to gear up for NaNoWriMo 2009! *CHEERS*

So I know it is only the beginning of september, but I am already starting to jot down ideas about my potential novel. I know that it's going to be a fantasy (Big surprise there :P ) and that my main character is going to be Female. I havn't quite decided on a name for her yet though. I've decided she needs a male companion so I can throw in a little romance, and he doesn't have a name either. I find that choosing the name for the character can sometimes be the hardest part of writing, because I want the name to be a perfect fit for the characters. I know I can always go back and change the name of a character once I'm done writitng, but it just isn't the same. A person isn't compleate without a name, and neither is a character in a book. How can I write about something that isn't complete? I dunno, but I guess some people do it.

On another note, I think I have to go help make dinner since something big and loud just bashed into the wondow scaring the hell outta me. I think it's a sign I'm needed downstairs. I will Keep you posted.

Later!

Productive, but non-writing

So I got up this morning (well, really just around noon) and I baked 3 batches of cookies to bring with me to the overnight writing session tomorrow. I did sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, and chocolate chip cookies. They all turned out really well and are very yummy. I even decorated them with icing. It was fun. I've also packed up some tea and some sugar, all I need now is an electric kettle. I hope I can find one... I don't know where the one I have is, it is packed away in the garage somewhere... I'll have to see if I can borrow my daddy's <3 lol.

My writing went terrible today. I think I only wrote somewhere between 200-300 words. I just wasn't in the mood, and was having some other issues that some chocolate pudding fixed up quite nicely. Yay for Chocolate pudding! Its this healthy kind too, something my mom's boyfriend found, so its not compleatly terrible for me to have some, and it doesn't taste that bad either.

I also started making christmas gifts (I might have mentioned that in an earlier post already) and so I worked a little bit on them too. They are comming along... slowly. I chose to do something I have never done much of before, so it took me a bit to get used to doing it and having it turn out alright. I think It took me 4 tries before I got something that was streight enough for me to use. LoL. Well, I am having fun doing it, so thats cool and I am pleased. I hope the recipiants will be too.

Well, I am off to bed so I can pile on those hours of sleep so I will be able to stay up all night at the writing session tomorrow night.

*waves* Night!

Getting closer

It's been another couple of days since I posted last (I know, I know *wrist slaps*) I've just been so busy between writing and sleeping (and I decided I would start to make christmas gifts as well) So I feel like i'm kinda going crazy. At the end of each day I feel so exhausted that I am too tired to fall asleep. Of course, it might have to do with the amout of caffeine I've been consuming. So i'm just over 37k words *cheers* but I didn't write yesterday because I had some other engagements going on and My day was just too full, so I wrote over my daily wordcount today, but I didn't make up enough to cover all of yesterdays word count too. I'm hoping that going to the Over Night Writing Session will give me a kick in the pants to keep going. It's suppose to be THE big event so I'm looking foreward to it. I hope to get their early so I get a plug for my laptop. lol. I should remember to bring an outlet extender thing and an extention cord. *Hopes really hard I remember to pack them tomorrow* I'm baking cookies to bring with me to the session (or is it a party?) because everyone loves to snack on cookies and munchies help people write. Well, most of the time anyways. I also need to find an electric kettle I can take with me so I can make tea, because where we are going to be wont have a kettle. They will have a coffee machine though. I hope someone remembers to bring cream and sugar for those who like it in their coffee. And if I decide to have a cup of coffee if (or should I say when) I get bored of drinking tea, I -really-hope its a decent brand of coffee and not that no name cheap brand stuff that tatses really terrible. But I don't know who is bringing the coffee, so I can't complain, because it is not me who is paying for it. Or if we are really luckey, there will be a coffee shop in close proximity to where we will be and I will show up with a coffee and save my tea for later in the night. We shall See.

Anyways, I'm off to bed so I can get up and bake cookies tomorrow! I hope to drop in and update before the overnight session, but if I don't, Wish me luck, and send me Telepathic Caffeine ^_^

It's Been A Crazy Couple of Days

So I havn't updated in like a week I think, Which I appologize for, for anyone who is following this. ^_^

I've been writing like mad, except for the days where I didn't write anything. lol. There were a few days where I couldn't write anything because my day was just filled with too much other stuff I had to deal with, but I managed to make up for it on the following days, So I'm still ahead in my word count. *Yay!* Yesterday I just breached the 30k mark, which makes me *has to think* 3/5 of the way done, which makes me *gets out calculater* 60% of the way done, and yesterday was the halfway point. *Dances* I'm feeling pretty good about it, especially since I managed to keep my word count up even though there were a few days I couldn't write.

When I logged my word count last night, In the word war list, I am number 15. So much for wanting to stay within the top 10. lol. Its crazy though, There is one girl on the toronto team that had written over 200k so far, and another woman who is over 100k. Then there are a bunch of people who are just past 50k and the rest of us normal people who are at a much smaller number. hehe! The Toronto Word War team has collectivly written over 1 million words, and I think we are actually at a much higher (and more impressive) number now, but I just cant remember the stats at the moment. We are 300k words ahead of Vancouver, so as long as we keep this up, we are going to crush them! I beleive we are also beating them in total donations given as well which will give us extra bragging rights. ^_^ GO TORONTO!!

Last night was the halfway party and CD exchange which was really fun. We went to The Yellow Griffin Pub and they serve over 35 different types of hambergers, plus you could get all of the hanbers as chicken instead of beef so it it really like 70 different hambergers. It was crazy. I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat, and I couldn't find just a regular old joe hamber with lettuce, tomato and onion on the menu. I had to ask, and they have one, it just had a funny name on the menu and with all the other burgers, I must have missed reading the burger discription. The drinks were good and I met a bunch of people that I hadn't met before, which was really fun. One of the girls I met is interested in having me make her a corset, which is exciting because I havn't done one in a couple of months and I've been thinking about making one just because, but it's much more fun to make them for other people, and now I've got a reason to ^_^ (Plus, she's got the coolest pink hair I have ever seen!) There was someone else who asked me if I could teach her how to sew corsets, so that will be fun, if she decides to actually go through with it. The CD exchange was fun too. I had a blast putting together my cd, Picking which songs I was going to use that I had was time consuming though. Some of the Cds I got in return were pretty cool (although I havn't listened to all of them yet) and there was one that was absolutly terrible in my opinion, but hey, thats just me.

So now that I've procrastinated for an hour by writing this post, I have to get back to writing and get some wordage in so I can move up the list, or try to anyways. So Cheers! And wish my happy writing ^_^
